WHAT BKIM BELIEVES

In many church bodies which represent some form of Christian orthodoxy and unity as far as understood, there are essential matters unifying them with the teaching of Christ's Apostles. While having different cultural and other secondary tenets, BKIM shares in the same faith as the initial apostolic fathers despite reforming from those churches established by them (Mark 9:38-41). Sharing in the same faith of yesterday, today, and forever, BKIM upholds the following essentials according to the BKIM Fellowship of Covenant Churches Official Manual:

We believe in one God in Three Persons, being Trinitarian; we believe in God the Father that lacks a physical form and is present everywhere; we believe in God the Son through Whom all things were made and has a physical form while also being in the spiritual realm and sits on the One Throne; and we believe in God the Holy Spirit that is not a force, but a Person Who lives in each believer; we believe these three are one.

We believe that to best represent the unity of Christ as He prayed, that in order to fulfill this, we must unite against our denominational prejudices, and come to a common point of understanding on sound doctrine and administrative organization.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament into the 66 book Protestant canon is the divinely inspired, true word of God from which none others may exist. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us, and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried.

We believe that man is a fallen being through disobedience to God, formerly made in perfect holiness and fellowship with God in the Garden of Eden. We believe that as a consequence, all mankind are sinners through being born of the fallen Adam and Eve, yet, we also believe that while fallen, according to Genesis 3:15 and John 3:16, that salvation has been provided through the life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that as Christ died for everyone, all are welcome to come to Him. We do not, however, license or ordain active or hidden LGBTQ+ aligned persons nor those living in the same-sex attracting lifestyle, in any of our churches or ministries, lest those churches or ministries leave BKIM Fellowship of Covenant Churches (which occurs in bad standing, causing their paperwork from licensing and ordinations to be legally void). We also forbid whoremongers and child abusers and predators from likewise holding the same. All sin is sin, and will be treated equally.

We believe that the Scriptures teach that the Law of God is the eternal and unchangeable rule of his moral government; that it is holy, just and good; and that the inability which the Scriptures ascribe to fallen men to fulfill its precepts, arise entirely from their love of sin; to deliver them from which, and to restore them through a Mediator to unfeigned obedience to the holy Law, is one great end of the Gospel, and of the Means of Grace connected with the establishment of the visible Church.

We believe in the episcopacy, that is, the rule of episcopal leaders (the bishop, also known as the overseer or superintendent, the terms being synonymous); in BKIM Fellowship of Covenant Churches, we uphold that all of our episcopates—whether the Presiding Prelate, or their subordinate episcopates—are consecrated in authentic apostolic succession, stemming from our founding father, Bishop Bernard Kimble the Presiding Prelate, our global leader and spiritual father.

We believe that the Scriptures initially revealed a threefold administration, which grew out of the twofold administration of the deacon and pastor/elder/bishop, that is, before the rise of the monarchical bishop and threefold order of deacons, priests, and bishops. This fellowship upholds there are the deacons/deaconesses, the pastors/elders and their associate ministers/elders, and the episcopates whether as overseers or bishops. This fellowship also upholds the apostleship.

We believe that no church or ministry as a part of this fellowship will be lorded over, but, we believe that all members of this fellowship are to cooperate with one another to the glory of God. Each church maintains its own right to their own properties and trademarks, though they submit to the counsel of the Presiding Prelate and their leadership.

We believe the Scriptures teach that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, into the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Ghost; to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect, in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is prerequisite to the privileges of a church relation; and to the Lord’s Supper, in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of bread and wine, are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination. We believe that these are not ordinances or symbols, but real sacraments as the grace of God flows from them.

We believe the Scriptures teach that civil government is of divine appointment, for the interest and good order of human society; and that magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored and obeyed; except only in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience, and the Prince of the Kings of the earth. Even if we may not agree with those laws passed against God’s will and the Bible, we respect their God-given authority in disagreement.

We believe the Scriptures teach that the end of the world is approaching; that at the last day, Christ will descend from heaven, and raise the dead from the grave for final retribution; that a solemn separation will then take place; that the wicked will be adjudged to endless punishment, and the righteous to endless joy; and that this judgment will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of righteousness.
